Who we are and what we do.

The King's Army are proud to portray Regiments which fought on the side of the King during the English Civil Wars (ECW). Each Regiment portrays part of an actual ECW Regiment, with its command structure, officers and men, all carrying accurate reproduction arms: Muskets, Pikes, Swords, Partisans or Halberds ... all marching to the beat of our Drums.
Our Artillery hosts Battalion pieces, maneuverable for battlefield operation as well as the larger cannon of the static Battery.
Our Cavalry Regiment gives that final spectacle of dash and flair to our displays.
As the Royalist army of The English Civil War Society we Bring History to Life.

Our Events
The King's Army portrays many aspects of life during the Civil Wars. Our civilians demonstrate the lives of people caught up in the conflict in our Living History displays. Major battles such as those fought at Edgehill and Marston Moor are well documented but many of the conflicts between the armies of the King and Parliament were smaller affairs, sieges, raids and skirmishes. The Wars created havoc all over the land. Recreations of such ‘Fights’ as well as Military encampments are all portrayed during our year, presented either by the whole Army, or by individual Regiments . |
